The strategies you train during preparation underpin your performance on test day.
In our UCAT course, each subtest has its dedicated training guide, which equips our students with proven methods to approach every question type with confidence and efficiency.
Unlike traditional 'bootcamp-style' courses, our program is self-paced and fully 1 on 1. Your tutor will work with you each step of the way to ensure your preparation is well planned and executed.
You'll solve questions in real time with expert UCAT tutors, with sessions booked as needed around your schedule.
Your tutor will guide you through three phases to ensure your success in each UCAT subsection
Build efficient and robust strategies to achieve untimed accuracy in every question type.
Train those strategies under timed pressure until they hold up at test pace.
Build endurance through timed subtests and full UCAT mocks.

We recommend starting early, around February of the year you intend to sit, so that there is plenty of time to improve and refine your strategy and approach to the many questions in the UCAT. Starting later is not necessarily a disadvantage.
No, it is never too late. Our job as 1 on 1 tutors is to help maximise your score with whatever time we have to prepare, even if it's literally one week. In our 15 minute consultation, we'll make a plan, and stick to it.
While we recommend at least 5 lessons as a general guide, there is no fixed number. The right level of support is decided collaboratively between the student and tutor, based on what the student is looking to get out of the course. Some students prefer weekly lessons for ongoing accountability, while others book sessions less frequently as they become more independent.
Your preparation is built around your individual needs rather than a fixed class timetable or generic "bootcamp" schedule. Lessons are booked when they are most useful, with each session responding to your performance, questions and progress between sessions.
Preparation follows a deliberate progression: first developing accurate and efficient methods without time pressure, then training those methods under realistic timing, before building the endurance required for timed subtests and full mocks. This helps students build reliable skills rather than relying on rushed shortcuts.
Tutoring focuses on all the three cognitive subtests: Verbal Reasoning, Decision Making and Quantitative Reasoning. Each area has dedicated strategies and training methods designed for its specific question types and time pressures. We don't spend class time on Situational Judgement, as this can be studied and practiced individually in the vast majority of cases.
A low starting score is simply a starting point. The early focus is on understanding why questions are being missed and developing methods that are accurate before becoming faster. Speed is built through deliberate practice, and if your initial techniques are sound, they can be scaled to the time-pressures of the UCAT.
While you do not "need" one, we strongly recommend purchasing one, because it provides ample questions and mock exams. Voyager Academy provides strategy-focused tutoring and guides, and we've partnered with Medify to provide optional discounted Medify bundles for students who have not already purchased their own question bank.
Voyager Academy does not offer free trial lessons, but students can book a free 15-minute strategy consultation before beginning. There is no lock-in contract: sessions can be booked around your needs, and students may finish the program at any time.
