These terms and conditions govern the tutoring services provided by Voyager Academy (ABN 18 633 079 376) ("we", "us", "our") and your use of our website. By booking a session or using our website, you agree to these terms. If you are booking on behalf of a student under 18, you do so as their parent or guardian and you accept these terms on their behalf.

About these terms

These terms form the agreement between you and Voyager Academy. They apply to every booking and session unless we agree otherwise in writing. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Our services

We provide online tutoring in HSC Chemistry, UCAT preparation, and medical and dentistry interview preparation. Sessions are usually delivered one on one over video call. The exact content of a session depends on your needs and the tutor you book with.

Bookings

You can book a session using the scheduling links on our website. When you book, you agree to provide accurate contact details so we can reach you. A booking is a request for a session. After you book, we will be in contact to confirm the details, introduce ourselves, and send your invoice.

Payment and invoices

Please noteAll invoices must be paid in full before the date of the class they relate to. If an invoice has not been paid before your scheduled session, we may treat the booking as cancelled by you.

We issue invoices by email after you book. Our session rates are set out on our website or confirmed with you when you book. Payment is made by the method shown on your invoice. If you have any questions about an invoice, please contact us before the session date so we can sort it out.

Cancellations and the cancellation fee

Cancellation feeA $50 cancellation fee applies to cancellations made within 3 hours of the session, and to no-shows. This fee will not apply where there is a genuine extenuating circumstance or emergency.

If you need to cancel a session, please let us know as early as you can. Cancellations made more than 3 hours before the session start time are free of charge.

A $50 cancellation fee applies if you cancel within 3 hours of the session start time, or if you do not attend a booked session (a "no-show"). We understand that life happens, so this fee will be waived where there is a genuine extenuating circumstance or emergency, such as illness, a family emergency or another serious unexpected event. Whether a circumstance qualifies is decided by us, acting reasonably and in good faith. Just let us know what happened and we will take it into account.

Rescheduling and lateness

If you would like to reschedule rather than cancel, please contact us as early as possible and we will do our best to find a new time that suits both you and your tutor. If you arrive late to a session, we will still finish at the scheduled end time so that we do not affect other students' bookings.

If we need to cancel

Very occasionally we may need to cancel or reschedule a session, for example if a tutor is unwell. If this happens we will give you as much notice as we can and offer you an alternative time. If we cancel a session that you have already paid for and we cannot reschedule it, you will receive a full refund or credit for that session.

Your responsibilities

To get the most out of your sessions, we ask that you join on time, with a stable internet connection and any materials you have been asked to prepare. We expect respectful and courteous conduct from students and parents, and our tutors will treat you the same way. We may decline to continue working with anyone who behaves abusively or inappropriately.

No guarantee of results

We work hard to help every student improve, and we are proud of our students' results. However, outcomes depend on many factors, including the effort a student puts in. For that reason we cannot guarantee a particular score, ATAR, interview offer or admission outcome, and our fees are for the tutoring service itself rather than for any specific result.

Intellectual property

All materials we provide, including guides, worksheets, slides, practice questions, tools and the content of our website, are the intellectual property of Voyager Academy and are provided for your personal study only. You may not copy, share, resell or distribute our materials, or reproduce them publicly, without our written permission.

Liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from our services, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the session or sessions the claim relates to. Nothing in these terms excludes any guarantee, right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Privacy

We handle your personal information in line with our privacy policy, which forms part of these terms. Please read it to understand how we collect, use and protect your information.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The current version will always be available on this page, with the date it was last updated shown at the top. The terms that apply to your booking are the ones in force at the time you book.

Governing law
